Merry merry Christmas

メリークリスマス皆さん!!

I hope it was a great Christmas for you :)

We had a lot of fun stuff this week, so I'll just jump into it:

-We met with a super nice guy at McDonald's and taught him about the Book of Mormon! He read the introduction with us and said this is a really sacred book! Hopefully we can meet again

-I got to practice driving, and took the paper test for my license! Next month I'll take the driving test and get my license, so that's exciting

-We drove around giving presents to people a lot, which was so much fun

-We helped some other companionships do some caroling at a senior home

-We taught two new people who had interest in English, but they ended up asking a lot of questions about the church, and we set up an in person lesson, AND they came to church on Christmas

-We went Caroling and had a big dinner with a bunch of missionaries and some people with a baptismal date at the mission home on Christmas

It was such a great week! Getting the chance to testify of Christ's birth so often was the best. I hope you all felt closer to Christ this season!

Thanks, Love ya!

寒いー🥶

どうもジョーンズ長老です!!

Hello everyone! It is very cold 🙃
We got lots of snow this week, which was really fun. We even went sledding for pday today!

This week was packed of a lot of cool stuff, and I really learned a lot. We had mission tour with Elder McCune of the 70 this week, and got to spend a lot of time with him. He was such a loving person, I'm so glad I got to meet him. He gave us such a great invitations!

This week we did a lot of visiting to members and giving them Christmas presents, which was lots of fun. I quite like the members here haha

Our sports night was really good this week! Hopefully we can keep having people come, and start teaching those people too!

I don't have a ton of time, so I'll leave it there, but thanks for all you guys do! Have a good Christmas!

Bye bye!

Actual snow!

皆さんこんにちは!

We finally got lots of snow yesterday! It snowed all night and stuck really well, so now there's about a foot of snow. Yay!

Here's a little look at our week!

-I went to the driving range and practiced driving! It's so much fun. Surprisingly being on the right side of the car isn't that weird! I'm excited to drive soon enough

-We had to say bye to my 2 great MTC companions and Elder Hill who was in our MTC group. It was sad to see them go, they were all such great missionaries. I learned a lot from each of them!

-We bought a giant beach ball for our sports night, and played volleyball with it! So much fun!

-We had a Christmas party for our ward, and these two families from Afghanistan came! And one of them came to church the next day! Hopefully we can teach them soon

That's about all the interesting things that happened this week. Other than that, it was just normal missionary work!
My companion has been saying this quote a lot, so I'll leave you with this!
"You and I ultimately have to choose to be chosen, through the righteous use of moral agency."

Love ya, bye!

Snow!!

どうもジョーンズ長老です!

I don't have much time to write today, so I'll be brief

This week was super busy, but here are the highlights:

-Snow has finally come! I'm so excited for it

-9 missionaries went home, including my old companion Elder Kobayashi, so that was sad.

-but 11 really promising missionaries came! And I got to stay the night in a hotel with them, so that was nice. we had a hiccup with the subway in the morning, but everyone made it safely haha

-We found a new lady whose mom is a Christian so she might have some potential!!

Thanks for everything, bye!!

Equally yoked

どうもジョーンズ長老です!!

Wow this week was so busy. We had to stay up late planning stuff and doing little tasks that had to get done so much. It was a really satisfying week, and I learned a lot, but not much time for 伝道 unfortunately.

-I got to do exchanges with my old MTC companion Elder Helms, and it was a lot of fun! We had some good times streeting, and met these two young fellas that had a blast with us. Hopefully they read the Book of Mormon and meet with us again!

-After that we drove up to Asahikawa and did exchanges there. Wow it was pretty! I ate some good ramen, had some fun housing and streeting, and all that good stuff. We had to leave early and head back to Sapporo, so that was too bad.

-We also got a new companion! And it gets better, he's Elder Raventos!! He's a such a good guy, most people reading this went to Westlake, so hopefully you know him haha.

-We had a family home evening at the Kinjo's house and a couple of our friends came. Hopefully they progress quickly!

There was lots of other stuff I did this week, but it's hard to know what to write from the week haha. I can say my faith is much stronger now than it was last week!

Hope you have a good one!

Bye Davis Chourou!

どうもジョーンズ長老です!

Well I just barely emailed a few days ago, but somehow a bunch of stuff happened these last few days!

-We had the other zone conferences and I got to translate for them! It was pretty stressful, but really fun! languages are so interesting

-Davis Chourou wanted to go streeting one last time after the last zone conference, so we went out in the rain and even though it was super cold, it was an enjoyable time

-After that we taught the mom of a recent convert and wow she's cool, definitely want to help her get baptized before I go home

-We got to eat sushi with President and Sister Kinjo that night as well, then Sister Kinjo made us breakfast the next day. She's such an angel

-Then Davis Chourou got released... luckily his parents came to get him, so we got to see him every once in a while throughout the week. I will miss him though

-We had a super fun sports night, then went back to old Miyanosawa for exchanges! It was fun to see the church and the apartment and some of the people again

-They also had a super good sports night there, and were able to give 2 Book of Mormons out!

It was a good week. So so so busy, and probably this week will probably be busy too, but hopefully we'll have some good spiritual experiences

The Main Island!

ヤッホー!!

Last week was just so much fun! Learned a lot of good things that I'm really excited to apply this week. Its gonna be a good one I think :)

Anyway, here's a little rundown of my week:

-On p-day we went to this really cool park and they had a playground for kids, but it was fun for us too haha. Also I ran up this hill and had the most nostalgic feeling!

-We did some service by the temple! It's been so long since I've done a service project, so I was pretty happy

-It was the primary program this week! It was so cute haha

-We invited the mom of a recent convert to church and she came and had a great time! We also were able to set up a lesson with her for this week :)

-On Sunday night we flew down to Aomori, which is on the main island, and stayed in a hotel there! I love hotels, and it was so cool to see what it's like down south haha

-We had to learn how to use a bunch of audio recording stuff, and it's so cool to know that I can do that now haha. Elder Helms from my MTC district is so good at teaching about all that tech stuff

That was basically my week! We've been seeing a lot of progression with our people, so we're excited for the next couple weeks with them.
Love you all!

"I love you, Mother,” said little [John];

Then, forgetting his work, his cap went on,

And he was off to the garden swing,

And left her the water and wood to bring.
“I love you, Mother,” said rosy Nell—

“I love you better than tongue can tell”;

Then she teased and pouted full half the day,

Till her mother rejoiced when she went to play.
“I love you, Mother,” said little Fan;
“Today I’ll help you all I can;
How glad I am that school doesn’t keep!”
So she rocked the babe till it fell asleep.
Then, stepping softly, she fetched the broom,

And swept the floor and tidied the room;
Busy and happy all day was she,
Helpful and happy as child could be.
“I love you, Mother,” again they said,
Three little children going to bed;
How do you think that Mother guessed
Which of them really loved her best?"
-Joy Allison

Coming home! Three more days . . .
