Sayounara Texas!

 どうもジョーンズ長老です!!

Bye President and Sister child

Well, I left Texas and am now in Sapporo! It's been a wild time, so I'm gonna give a brief overview of everything that's happened.

-saying bye to everyone was really sad

-I got to fly with a bunch of other missionaries, including a few from my MTC days!

-Japanese airline service is super super nice

-I've gotten super sleepy around 7 o'clock every day

-This place is so pretty! I could stare out the window or walk down the street all day

-The members are so nice here! My japanese isn't great, but it's fun to use!

-I'm in a trio with Elder Oshima and Elder Davis, and we have an Elder from my MTC named Elder Hill with us! He's hilarious and it will be very quiet when he leaves haha

-I'm in the north part of Sapporo, an area called Miyanosawa.

-the ward is bigger than I thought! And wow sacrament meeting was crazy. I caught a word here and there haha

-people dress so nice over here

-we can tract here! So I am excited to actually do that for once

-street contacting is hard... we get business cards though!

-trains are fun

-Everyone is always busy!

-The church building is so different! It's really cool, but it's very simplistic and efficient, if that makes sense

-the food is really tasty here, and the snacks are to die for!

Theres a ton more I could write about this place, but I really do miss Texas, and all the people there! I will say, I've learned that the Gospel is definitely true in all languages

If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I've taken lots of pictures but I'll try to decide which ones to add!

Down to the wire

ヤッホ~

Well hey there everyone! This week has been pretty dang good. We had a lot of good lessons and progress with our people!

Judy got moved into her new apartment, Erik is getting baptized in the next couple months, and his daughter is on date for the 18th of next month, Chase opened up to us more, and a whole lot more.

Most importantly was Kacie. She's been my favorite person I've taught on my mission so far. So we asked her to be baptized on the 23rd, before I leave to Japan. She felt OK about it, but isn't sure if she's ready. So we sicked Bishop on her and had him talk to her during church. It was a great conversation and we're gonna push for it to be on the 23rd still. Please pray for her!!

The Three Nephites

 こんにちは皆さん!

Wow our trio has been been unreal! The first person we taught together accepted a baptismal date. It's been so much fun!

I also got a date for when I leave to Japan, I leave on the 26th!

Other than that, nothing really happened this week haha. It really was one of the longest weeks in a super long time haha

Baptism pic

ヤッホ~

This week was so dang good! Roger decided that he was ready to be baptized this weekend, and he got in the font! He's such a good guy. I sure love that family

Elder Holgreen and I are staying here in Midland together, so that's exciting! We're also getting a new companion named Elder Nordquist. It's gonna be so fun! Also I'm probably gonna be leaving to Japan in a few weeks now. I should have a date by next week. Not really sure how I feel about it honestly... There are great people here and a lot of great opportunities coming up, but I'm so excited for Japan!

We also set up a fun study for the Zone, with this super smart scholar named Travis. He's so dang smart and has helped us all so much. It was the coolest little zoom call.

Anyway have a good week. Love yall

Ghosti boi

 どうもジョーンズ長老です!

This week was so much fun! Holy smokes. We found this awesome family that had their faith totally shaken while we taught them the plan of salvation. It was the coolest experience.

Sidenote about this week, I just touched the rim of the basketball hoop today... no big deal haha

So there was this weird hallucination that my companion had one night, that was really creepy, and he used it to prank me the other night, to get me to think we had a demon in our apartment. It was pretty sketchy!

Anyway, I can't think of too much else that happened that was out of the ordinary. Our friend Roger might be getting baptized this week, so please pray that he will!

The work is going well, and we have some good things coming, but most importantly the Gospel is still true!

Easter time

Dalton's bautismo

ヤッホ~

Well happy Easter everyone! I hope it was a good one

We had a crazy week. Elder Holgreen and I are doing just fantastic! This has been the best transfer ever haha. We have a good ol' time together and have seen so much success.

Oh this week, I got to help set up an Easter egg hunt for another ward, and man it was fun. A bunch o' little kids were hounding hounding haha. It was the best of times

The highlight of this week was probably a lesson we had last night with a member and his nonmember wife. They're from Kenya! He knows Eliud Kipchoge (found out its pronounced Keep-chogay, sorry Elder T-Hud) anyway, we talked to him for a bit, then prayed with him and invited him to knock on his wife's bedroom door to see if she was ready for a message, and she came out!! We had the most spirit filled lesson and she was so grateful. The spirit is such a cool thing!

Love yall!

Sicko mode all the time

Stir-fried ramen from Sapporo

どうもジョーンズ長老です!

Well I'm glad to inform you all that I've been sick all week still hahaha. I got strep throat now. So we're just rolling with the punches, and it didn't slow us down one bit. I'm getting the antibiotics for it today... hopefully!

We had tons of stuff going on this week. We had a basketball game between our Zone and the Odessa Zone, and we came out victorious!
We also had Zone conference, which went super well, there was some much needed instruction given. I'm excited for the rest of this transfer!

After Zone conference I went on exchanges with another Elder that was originally assigned to Japan, but he's been permanently assigned here now :(
It was a good ol' time though! We went to a Ramen bar called "Sapporo", and it was hecka tasty

And to cap off this wild week, our friend Dalton got baptized!
He was probably the fastest progressing person I've ever met. He assumed he would learn about the church and quickly decide it was all garbage, but within a week of reading the Book of Mormon and learning from us, he decided it was all true! And then he overcame so much and got baptized 2 or 3 weeks later. He's gonna be a great member for sure! He's already planning how he's gonna teach his anti mom haha

Anyway, that was our week! Lots of craziness going on, but hopefully things will calm down here soon!
